On the afternoon of January 6, 2025, the fifth meeting of the first council of the Anhui Carbon Neutrality Research Association was grandly held in the Academician Building. Nearly 100 people attended the meeting, including Yang Shanlin, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor of Hefei University of Technology, and President of the Association; Dai Jianhua, Secretary of the Association's Party Committee; Xia Jimiao, Executive President; and other leaders; as well as representatives from vice-chairman units, members of the council, expert representatives, and representatives from the office and working committee. The meeting was chaired by Dai Jianhua.
At the meeting, Xia Jimiao delivered the research institute's 2024 annual work report, and Supervisor Xia Minglong presented a financial report. The meeting reviewed and approved proposals for additional board members, as well as proposals for the establishment of the Green Certificate and Green Power Service Center, the Carbon Asset Management and ESG Development Center, the Product Carbon Footprint Certification and Technology Innovation Center, the Waste Gas Treatment Working Committee, the Dual-Industrialization Collaboration Working Committee, the Resource Recycling Working Committee, and the Zero-Carbon Park Construction Working Committee. The meeting also presented plaques.
Notably, Anhui Tianshun Environmental Protection, as the Vice Chairman of the Anhui Carbon Neutrality Research Association, was recommended for the position of Chairperson of the Waste Gas Treatment Working Committee due to its extensive technical experience and significant practical achievements in waste gas treatment. Chairman Zhong Hua was appointed as the Chairperson. This not only highly recognizes Tianshun Environmental Protection's past work, but also confers upon the company a significant responsibility in promoting waste gas treatment efforts in Anhui Province and contributing to the achievement of carbon neutrality goals.
In his concluding remarks, President Yang Shanlin proposed five initiatives: First, strengthen research and innovation, deepen research in the field of carbon neutrality, and explore new technologies and methods; second, promote industrial transformation and upgrading, actively guide and support traditional industries in their transition to low-carbon and green development; third, deepen cooperation and exchange, form a synergistic force, and jointly address the challenges of carbon neutrality; fourth, pay close attention to disruptive technologies, which can drive industrial transformation and shape future industries; and fifth, closely integrate artificial intelligence with "dual carbon" efforts, allowing AI to empower green development.
This council meeting has charted the course for the development of carbon neutrality in Anhui Province and provided a platform for communication and cooperation among member organizations. Anhui Tianshun Environmental Protection will leverage its recognition as a member of the Waste Gas Treatment Working Committee to fully leverage its strengths. Under the leadership of the Anhui Carbon Neutrality Research Association, it will work hand in hand with its member organizations to contribute further to the province's carbon neutrality efforts and help accelerate the development of a comprehensive green transformation zone for economic and social development with significant impact.
